After 2014, will the XP updates issued until that date, still be available? ie; if l have to re install Windows in say, 2019, will l still be able to utilize MS update to download all of the updates issued prior to April 2014? Should l purchase Acronis back up?

My XP Pro runs beautifully, meets my needs & l have No Need to acquire the “latest and Greatest”

I doubt it. Your best bet is to download SP3 (if you don’t already have it) and all the updates after it, and make a slipstreamed disk. I used nlite – works perfectly. I make a new disk every couple of months as new updates are released.

I suspect that the files will still be available on the MS download site – those for Office 2000 (and I think for Windows 98) are still there. But I agree that it makes sense to download all the updates as suggested by tonyl, and indeed to make and remake a slipstreamed disk.
