    Often when I use Advanced Filter to filter based on criteria, Excel crashes. It generally happens after the 2nd or 3rd filter.
    Any ideas on how to avoid these crashes. I rely on this a lot to filter certain stores from a list of 2000 stores.

      I’ve never heard of this problem before. Maybe your workbook contains some sort of corruption.
      Try saving this workbook as HTML. Then open the HTML file and save-as a normal workbook (use a new name to prevent overwriting your original!).
