Adobe Acrobat Pro v.9 – Hyperlink to exact Page on PDF

I need help in creating a Hpyerlink to another PDF at a certain page.

I have legal documents that cite other PDFs. So far I can link to another PDF, but it will go to the first page.

Is there a way to do it to go to a specific page instead?

This popped up in a web search. Not sure it still applies in version 9, or whether PDF-to-PDF links actually use a browser mechanism, but you could try it: Link from an HTML page to a specific page in PDF file (Acrobat 7.x, Acrobat 3D).

‘Hyperlink your notes together’ is a topic in Tips and Tricks for Microsoft Office. If you have OneNote 2007 you can create such links, but even that appears to apply to pages, rather than locations on a page. The benefit of OneNote is that it is geared to notes rather than full documents, and as such may be useful to anyone who is organizing material that is to be compiled into a document.

See the “Link PDF documents” part of Linking up with Acrobat. While the instructions are for creating a link to another page in the same PDF file, they can also be used to create links between two PDF files – the trick is to open or activate the second PDF file before step 5 (the “Create Go to View” dialog box is non-modal in Acrobat 7 Standard – the version that I have).

The good news is that inter-PDF file links seem to be relative.

It’s also possible to create a link to a named destination in another PDF file. Acrobat 7 Standard has a help topic named “Using destinations” that explains this.
