hello one and all!
hopefully this will be my last question on the subject of outlook 2000 before i install office 2007. thanks to one and all for the help you’ve given me with the other problems/questions that i posted. so much to learn, so little time…
anyway, here goes…
are the address book/s and contact file/s part of the .pst file or do i need to save them separately? if so, how do i do that? i have looked everywhere in both of my office 2000 books (woody’s book woody leonhard teaches microsoft office 2000 and his book with ed bott special edition using microsoft office 2000) and can’t seem to find the answer. i have even tried the help files for outlook and office; no luck. i don’t know whether i don’t know how what i am looking for is worded, (a problem that i see a lot with any microsoft product; they don’t seem to use the same language that humans do, or, if they do, it doesn’t mean the same thing. hmm…. i wonder if they are all relatives of the red queen?), or if what i want to know simply doesn’t exist. that’s why i come here; all y’all are always so helpful.
if, for some reason, the two aren’t part of the .pst file, could/would you, in addition to telling me how to save them, please tell me how to print out the files, so that i can see all the information that i have entered? i’ve tried different views, but seem to lose a lot of the info. i used to try to take my address book with me, before i got a laptop, so that i could e-mail people, using a local library ‘puter, or some such, or write to them, on real paper, with a real envelope and stamp (i think that everyone should get something in their home mail box once in a while that isn’t a piece of junk ail or a bill!); the printout was the only way that i could figure to take the info with me. always found out that i was missing something. frustration….
i have finally gotten my address book and contact file set up the way i want, and don’t want to lose all that hard work. (you shoulda heard/seen me when i finally figured out that the two were NOT one and the same! i had been thinking that they were and couldn’t figure out why i couldn’t find entries that i knew i had just made….
i think that this time i have asked a simple question that, i hope, will have a simple answer. then, finally, i will be able to start, and complete, my office 2007 installation. thanks for your help. take care and God bless.
smiles-
