In responding to another post I realized I haven’t posted instructions on how to do this.
This tip explains how to edit the information that displays in the pop up window when you hover the mouse pointer over a file’s name in File Explorer. This tip in the attached PDF isn’t for everyone, although anyone can do it. If you need to often check the Properties of certain files to obtain info about the file such as resolution of photo files, then having that info display by simply hovering the mouse pointer over that file’s name in File Explorer can save you a lot of time. You can display additional Properties of a file in File Explorer, but only in the Detail view. This mouse hover method works in other File Explorer views so you can view thumbnails and get resolution info or other info without opening the file’s Properties window.
This tip involves editing data in the Registry.
