By mistake, I uninstalled my copy, which I had been using for over two years, without any problem.

I downloaded it again and it was installed in the same computer, however when trying to activate it, it doesn’t take the License Code I have. When I try to use the sign in option, I get the message that the Administrator has disabled that feature. I am the only user/administrator in this PC and the application is not installed anywhere else.

Any suggestions on how to recover?. Thanks

Have you ever had to remove and reinstall it before now? As I read your post I wondered if the concern might be the authenticity of the license code and its vendor. I’m unsure. Because…

I’m running Office Home and Business 2019, using ‘permanent’ local-to-each-machine license codes on two machines. These are not cloud-based, subscription licenses which Microsoft could turn off for any reason. I purchased the licenses for $50 each from an on-line vendor whose site made me a little nervous. Yet both licenses on the two different machines installed OK although the vendor’s installation instructions were both fiddly and obtuse.

And… perhaps important to your concerns, a while back when Office malfunctioned I removed and reinstalled it on only one of the two machines (both have separate license codes). And when I reinstalled it, to my pleasant surprise the reinstallation worked smoothly.

        Thanks Michael.

No, this is the first time I needed to re-install it. I uninstalled it believing it was the free package offered by Microsoft and I wanted to clean my hard drive. I also paid $50 to an eBay vendor, but don’t recall having had any problems with instructions at the time. Now, the re-installation went very smoothly, but the problem arose when I had to activate it.

Someone suggested to use BBCodes to format the content, but that is beyond my level.

Doing a clean install of Windows and installing office again could work, using the sign in method.  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/download-and-install-or-reinstall-office-2019-office-2016-or-office-2013-7c695b06-6d1a-4917-809c-98ce43f86479

When you first installed and activated a Office 2019, an email address was required.  That email and password should let you install.

Wow. This would be quite a chore, but perhaps that’s what I need to clean my whole set up. I’ll keep it as a last resort.

        My appreciation for your suggestion.

Restoring an image created before you uninstalled Office should restore it to a working, activated condition.  A restore point created before Office was uninstalled may do the same.

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
