Are they going to send you a DL link and serial # or just a serial # ??? The page you linked to isn’t clear on that.

You’re right. It’s unclear, but my assumption is that “a letter [email?] with registration data” would include download information. scratch

If I remember correctly, Acronis TI was a covermount on either PCPro or Computer Shopper(UK) in one of the last couple of issues. I would imagine that the online form just gets you serial number for that…

Of course I could be wrong…

Curious way of providing free software. A serial number is no good unless you have the software downloaded and installed. dizzy

If I remember right, the last time that offer was around, there was a special link to a DL site and when you DL the file, and supplied contact info, they sent you an email with the key.

I’ve been watching for the past 24 hours wondering if someone was gonna try it out, so I did. Since I’m already a TI registered user, I submitted a pen name but a real email address and so far I’ve not had a response.

Well, I just tried it and they sent me a key and a password. Now, I’m trying to find version 8. lol More later. I’m in bed fighting the flu.

              Ok. update

Follow the link above. Register, they will email your key but make a note of your account password that is only displayed on the webpage. At the Acronis site login to your account (with the info you entered when you registered and the password they gave you). You can change your password at the profile page. You should find a screen that shows a list of Acronis registered products. Click that link and in the box that pops up you will find a link that allows you to download the product. I’m glad you cleared that up. Thanks for the post. Your account of what you experienced is Acronis’ standard procedure when you first “join up” and create an account.

Unfortunately, my attempt to test this water has so far failed. I’ve discovered a problem with my email server and I’m not receiving incoming emails. I have two in process that I should’ve received – this one and a software app from another thread. Oh well, my HostOnce friends will fix it for me some time, I’m sure… evilgrin

            Later…

OK, Found it. Acronis True Image 8 is on the March 2008 issue covermounted DVD of PC Pro (a Dennis publication) in the UK .
It all makes sense when you look at the “PCPro” bit in the url http://www.acronis.co.uk/mag/ pcpro /ati8pe

Now it’s time I was in bed. g’night
