• Acrobat problem (win 98)

I am not sure if this is the forum to post this in….

Whenever I try to open an Acrobat file I get a box with the message.
“You cannot view Acrobat PDF Files within your web browezer due to a configuation problem. Would you like Acrobat to fix the configuation?” I always click yes. After I click yes the file will load and I can read it.

This box will come up even if I go to the file reader ‘explorer” and click on an Acrobat file.

Acrobat does not seem to be fixing it. Is there anything I can do?

    Thanks

I would do a unistall on Acrobat Reader and then reboot you machine. Then go up to Adobe and download a new copy and then install it. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html%5B/url%5D

I think Dave has the right idea. This problem will depend on the version ot your browser and on the version of Acrobat. Make sure both of these are the most recent versions and you will likely have no conflicts.

      Hi There

I had the exact same problem. Uninstall it, but also make sure you haven’t got any earlier versions of Reader on your machine which I had when I was loading up a cover disc once!

Well, I have uninstalled it twice and installed it. but I still get the same message box. I decided to live with it. The only thing I have not done is upgrade to IE6, but so many say not to……

I have had nothing but problems with Adobe and IE6. It locks up when i am trying to view some of my pages I have created in Dreamweaver….again is the IE6 or is Adobe?
