I’m wondering why there are copies of mso.acl in 3 different folders? I believe they are all in the standard location (forget what it is right now – C:WindowsLocal etc..) but there are sub-folders entitled 1033, 1034, and 1036. Which version is Office storing my AutoCorrect entries in? I like to back-up this file before doing a clean-install but on this new version of Word (I had Office 97) I’m not sure which one is THE file where my AutoCorrect entries reside.

    TIA

      Try the following address http://support.microsoft.com/directory/art…B;EN-US;Q269006
or search Microsofts knowledgebase for articl Q269006. I think this is what you are talking about? If not sorry.

      Hope it helps. Fay

That link provides LOTS of info about acl files as well as Word 2000.

        Thanks!

The different numbers relate to different language versions of Office. 1033 is the number for the English language version.

Is the acl file in the 1033 folder identical to the one in the main area (C:WindowsLocal etc)? Sorry I can’t tell you exactly the location but its on my pc at home – and I just got Office 00 and am trying to get familiar with it.

I just need to know which acl file to back up if I were doing a clean-install.

        Thanks.
