Acer Aspire 5552 overheating

Hello! i think my acer pc is over heating and i am worried.

Speedfan is reporting that while i am writing this the temp is 51C. it has sometimes spiked to 61C while doing almost nothing. It is a laptop and should i be worried?

The 61C is close to the limit for that CPU. Are your fans running correctly? It the system well ventilated? Are you comfortable working inside the PC?

It is Brand new, i dont want to open it up. i just repalced the HDD.

Yeh the fans are running correctly, it only has one intacke vent. I play 18 Wheels of Steel,and when i play i use my cooling pad.

You can try shooting compressed air into all the available vent holes in an attempt to blow out accumulated dust bunnies. If that doesn’t work, you need to take it to a qualified laptop tech for disassembly and cleaning. Its too difficult a procedure for most users to attempt. Laptop parts are delicate and easy to break.

On which sensors does speed fan report off on? Is it the CPU?

If it were a desktop computer I might consider replacing the CPU heatsink and the thermalpaste on which it resides, but
as Jerry says, working inside a laptop is much harder. Gather together as much of the physical specifications as possible
on assembly and disassembly prior to beginning. If you are not comfortable with doing so, take it to a professional in a shop.

Has the laptop been dropped or mishandled in any way? Sometimes heatsinks can come loose this way.

Yes it is clint. The thing is that when I look at fan speed/pm there both 0.0 rpm. The fan is running and performence is great.

Try another app like HWMonitor and see if your BIOS has configurations for fan control.

Most laptops will have meager BIOS control settings, but if yours does, set the fans for maximum performance.
This will wear on your battery charge.

…Also, physically feel for heat, don’t rely completely on an application to tell you the laptop is hot.
