When we start Access applications written in VBA, the background is invariably colorless (a drab grey to black no-light region). Can I set up a different background, say cyan, in my applications without using form?

The background color of the application window is the Application Background color you can set in the Windows Display Properties (Appearance tab). This setting applies to all applications (e.g. if you have no Workbook open in Excel, you’ll see the same background color), and it is bound to the user, not to your database.

It is possible to set a background picture in Access; see API: Put an image in Access window in the Access Web.

Just remember that what you find appealing (I like cyan too, by the way) is going to be annoying to some others. That’s why I stick with minimal colors in my apps.
