    Hi All,

I am trying to chart to separate fields. One contains a formatted “Short Date,” and the other contains formatted ” 3:06:00 AM,” time.

    12/01/02 2:06:00 AM
    12/02/02 2:56:00 AM
    12/03/02 3:45:00 AM
    12/04/02 2:39:00 AM
    12/05/02 2:51:00 AM

When I try to chart these the Excel (bar graph) charting function places the date and time on the same line. It doesn’t place the date on an axis and the times on the other axis.

    I did test:

    12/01/02 10
    12/02/02 35
    12/03/02 4
    12/04/02 25
    12/05/02 18

and it placed the dates on one axis and the widget numbers on the other axis.

Any ideas on how I can chart dates with corresponding times?

    Thanks,

    James

That is annoying how poorly Excel reads your mind at times! To answer your question, I had to explicitly specify the Series data in the second step of the chart wizard. Just click on the Series tab, remove the second series, and redefine the first series:
