Just new to Access. Created a data base, but have not been able to figure how to back it up to a floppy. Any help really appreciated.

I would also add that it (always) helps to compact the database before copying to the floppy. The database gets bloated as it is used and compacting purges any temporary objects and makes the file as small as possible – short of using compression (like ZIP).

Access2000: Tools|Database Utilities|Compact and Repair Database…

This maybe better if the original and copy remain in their same relative positions. Create a batchfile “.bat” that will copy the .mdb file from source to backup folders. Create a form in access in design mode and add a command button. in the onclick event of this button put the code:
‘Shell “mypathnamemybatchfilename”‘.
whenever this button is clicked the batchfile will run and copy the database to the desired location. YOU DO NOT NEED TO CLOSE THE DATABASE TO RUN THIS.
