Thanks. That’s correct: October 14, 2025. Same date for my MS-Office 2016 and 2019. One more year than I thought is a relief!
I hope Susan wins her cup-of-coffee bet!
Regarding the sentence “we have two more years to worry about junking our functional Windows 10 machines”, I’ve been thinking that we have a tiny bit more than a year. Isn’t the EOS date Jan, 2025? That’s a year and two months from now.
October 2025…23 months.
In the uninstall Remote Desktop Connection link, instructions mention Windows 11 23H2 or later as a prerequisite. I don’t see instructions for Windows 10.
I can personally verify the uninstall instructions work for Windows 10 Pro 22H2 as I removed it yesterday via Settings > Apps > Remote Desktop Connection (I use 3rd party software for all my remote connections.)
That would “seem” to indicate the install instructions should also work for Windows 10 if you wanted to reinstall it?
I’m tracking an issue with Azure Virtual Desktop at the moment which I suspect might be related to the November updates. The issue is that the user receives an error message of “The administrator has ended the session” when trying to connect via the Remote Desktop app. I don’t have enough data to confirm yet, but it seems that removing KB5032189 might resolve it for now. Alternatively, unsubscribing from the Remote Desktop feed and subscribing again seems to also work.
