A recommended book about Windows 7

I’m looking for a good learning/tutorial book about Windows 7. As much as I find this forum very helpful, it looks like I’ll need a real book with me when I upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. The book has be good and thorough, not for the tech-savvy geek or an IT pro but for a normal guy who just installed the new OS.

What would you recommend?

I have to recommend the tutorial section of sevenforums.com. MVP Shawn Brink has done an excellent job of writing a tutorial for just about everything imaginable.

Woody “somebody” has a pretty good tutorial titled “Windows 7 for Dummies”. Stop by a bookstore and leaf through one and see if it meets your needs. I have one and it has helped point me in the right direction on lots of questions.

Paul Thurrott’s SuperSite for Windows is a usefull and informative site for Windows in general, and Windows 7 specifically.
Windows Weekly with Paul Thurrott & Leo Laporte is a decent Windows based podcast too.
Security Now with Steve Gibson with Leo Laporte is a podcast for Windows related security issues.

“Windows 7: The Missing Manual” is a good book. It is slightly less technical and easier to read than “Windows 7 Inside Out”, yet it covers a wealth of information.

I recommend a book named Plain & Simple for novice users of Windows 7. It’s written by Jerry Joyce and Marianne Moon, published by Microsoft. It has loads of pictures that teach you the simplest ways to get things done with Windows 7.

I have the paperback and just starting to learn what I can do with Windows 7
