TODO back is the only FREE program I have found to back up my iPod classic, with incremental and differential backup, scheduled backup, encrypted backup, set backup frequency, enable image reserve strategy etc.

1-it works very well, you can only choose a backup option, if you are scheduling daily weekly or monthly, if it’s a one off backup, the options are greyed out, I asked the DEV why this is, but was told I can right click on a task and choose the option, not that that’s obvious. But still should be available on the options screen regardless of frequency of backup. Also the what to do when the program finishes is also greyed out for a one off back up, but fortunately when the back up,is started, there is a drop down option bottom left of the screen to choose this action.

2-If move the created backup to a different location, then TODO can’t find the full backup to calculate what’s needed for a differential backup. Can’t see any way to tell TODO the new location, I asked for this as well as an option, but the Devs didn’t seem to understand the request.

Any comments welcome, this is a great program just some confusing layouts, including the keep so many copies for days moths years etc….it’s in two windows and I was really confused why it wasn’t just a drop down window with frequency and period….e..g 6 Weeks

so is the second issue fixable ?

In regards to your “second” issue. From my experience that is pretty common issue. Why would you want to move the FULL backup to a different location than where you plan to created a Differential or incremental backup? Is it a space issue or a security issue? Just curious.

For my non-business use (I do have the paid version) I use a different external HDD at the beginning of each month. I start with a FULL and then add a DIFF or INCRED backup each week. I disconnect the external HDD after each backup for security reasons. I run all the backups manually (this maybe what you call ONE-OFF).

My understanding is the reason you need them all (each FULL set) together is when you have a restore operation I needs to search each backup in each set to find the latest copy of each program/data file.
