Interesting observation from MG: Microsoft posted a link on Reddit that doesn’t make much sense. In particular, @einarmsft posted this: Hi folks! May’

Enterprises are still fully supported on those older versions as I recall.

I would say with the caveat that the extended support has to be paid and it is not cheap.
        But otherwise this is correct.

Support for Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 10 Version 1511 ended April 10, 2018. It is the ultimate support deadline for version 1511.

I applied this and related updates to my primary computer, Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit EeePC.  It broke too much.  (I’ve tried Windows 10 but it won’t run  too much of my trusty tools.)

All browsing kaput:  Your connection was interrupted — A network change was detected.

I spent many hours trying to fix it, Backed out the updates KB4099633 KB4103718 but that didn’t fix the problem.   I suspect that the UN-install of those updates was faulty.

Restart system,  I applied KB4093118, Resart again but that didn’t fix it either.

Can’t use that machine.  Using my backup.  Painfully.  Woe is me.

This is my first use of AskWoody.  I could use some help.  Thanks.

      Just my two cents.

MS would do well to support all versions of Windows 10 at least till they end support on their previous versions of 7 sp1 and 8.1. It does not make a lot of sense that their newest products are being depreciated well before much much older ones. Kind of hard to get business to move to the newest version when you don’t support any version long enough, except the long term one that should be only used for ATM’s, apparently. If your going to change the way support and updates work you should do so in a such a manner that is not better on your bottom line but is best for the end consumer. Windows as a Service is great on paper but is not practical because it’s an OS not a browsers or a word processor. Complete installs of new OS every six months for the millions of people who us Windows seems a bit much. People don’t need or want to be computer OS deployment experts, heck, OS deployment experts don’t want to be that either when the playbook changes every 6 months and it’s not even documented till maybe after the fact.
