A man left his secret lover a simple notecard with the following words on it. After just a few moments, she knew exactly where to meet him. Can you break the code and determine the secret place…

sew, Val, bead, ice, Bens, hop, mat

Hint: You’ll have to do more than simply enter the wordlist in the Google Search Bar. Maybe it’s not what you see, but what’s missing that counts! So far, what you have is a list of totally unrelated words and that’s a big clue…

Yet again you have got me stuck on this one. hairout

Looking at the words I note Val and Bens. Is the lady called Val and the man called Ben as they are capitalised?

The lady has rec’d this notecard with that particular list of words and nothing else. He is attempting to secretly let her know where they’ll be meeting. Anyone else seeing the note would never make anything of it, as it seems to be a list of totally unrelated words….

But the lady lover has it figured out. Tough to give clues to this one without solving it. But look at the wordlist again and see if there’s something you can do “to it”. And remember the end result – you’re looking for a meeting place or location, and that’s it!

And lastly, he would have had no reason to include their names on the notecard; they were secret lovers.

          Okay, Okay…

Another hint, but believe me, this makes it too easy –
Try doing something simple to each of the words in the wordlist that will make them not so “unrelated”.

is it something like this …

      sew becomes stew
      Val becomes veal
      bead becomes bread
      ice becomes rice
      Bens becomes beans
      hop becomes chop
      mat becomes meat

so the secret word is terrace
