I came across this little gem as an advertisement on msn.com. Here’s the link, straight from the horse’s mouth: 7 common myths about Windows 11

Myth 1: Windows 11 is just a visual update
Myth 2: You need a Microsoft account to use Windows 11
Myth 3: Older applications won’t run on Windows 11
Myth 4: Windows 11 is not suitable for gaming
Myth 5: You need the latest hardware to run Windows 11
Myth 6: Windows 11 is difficult to use
Myth 7: Windows 11 doesn’t support touch input

Myth 2 definitely has myth status, shrouded in mystery, vague references to it working, lots of “I can’t make it work” comments and no link to how to use a local account in the article.

Myth 8: Windows 11 is an upgrade [e.g. improvement] over Windows 10

Since when was an upgrade automatically an improvement?

It is so common that I now describe things that don’t work as “having been upgraded”.

        cheers, Paul

          Touché.
“Upgrade” and “Microsoft ‘upgrade'” are definitely distinct things.

And nothing is said about Windows Updates, “Release” Updates, or Ads.

Being 20 something in the 70's was far more fun than being 70 something in the insane 20's
