4K Video Playback Issues

Running Win 11 21H2 Pro.  Having trouble playing 4K videos taken by my phone and camera.  If I reboot my machine (usually), they will play fine.  But after the machine sits for awhile or if I open and close or use other programs or MS Edge, the same videos will have a very jerky, stuttered playback.

This is a 6 month old Dell laptop with 64 GB memory and an Nvidia graphics card with 3840 x 2400 display.  Currently it is attached to an external Dell HD monitor with 3840 x 2160. According to Dell, the video drivers are up to date. The problem exists whether I am connected to the external monitor or just using the laptop.  I downloaded and installed the HEVC Video drivers from MS with no improvement.  The videos play poorly both in the MS Movies and TV App as well as the VLC media player.

There is nothing wrong with the videos themselves as they always play perfectly  on an older Win 10 21h2 machine with only 16 GB memory, no matter what other apps I use.

Any suggestions?  I am totally frustrated here and have spent hours searching the web for possible solutions.  Thanks in advance!

Have you tried looking for a driver directly at Nvidia?

I am happy to report that it was in fact the drivers.   Before checking with the manufacturer, I went back to the Dell drivers site for my laptop.  They had very recently published drivers for both the Nvidia card and the Intel graphics.  Installed both of them and after several days of testing with loading and unloading numerous programs, the problem seems to have been resolved.  Finally I don’t have to keep rebooting to run my 4K phone and camera videos!  Thanks for the suggestions!
