I usually will update fairly early, which I did to 24h2.  It gave me enough issues that I backtracked to 23h.

I’ve seen mixed reviews of v24h.  Is there anything “in it” that is a must have? Or can I just go on my merry way with 23h for the time being?

There aren’t any must-have features in 24H2. You can stick with 23H2, but keep in mind that Microsoft will end support for it in November.

FWIW, Ms Bradley still does not recommend 24H2. However, I have upgraded to and run 24H2 since it was released without issues. What are the specific issues you encountered?

Sounds about right.  Nothing dramatic or specific, Joe. Just little tweaks here and there that can be annoying

Additionally, 23H2 still supports QuickLaunch via TrueLaunchBar, so I’m OK with where I am.

And then, I go to check for updates, and what does Microsoft want to download?? 24H2!

How do I block that for now and still get updates?

Paul, I have that, and it’s handy, but I don’t see selective stopping there.  That and Windows both let me stop ALL updates, but then what to do for security updates?

That and Windows both let me stop ALL updates

InControl doesn’t stop monthly updates. InControl stops release updates only (23H2 to 24H2..).
With InControl properly set to Windows 11 23H2 you shouldn’t be offered 24H2. Check setting again.

Thanks, Alex, I’ll double-check.  But then I’ll still get other updates?  I thought I had it set, but v24 snuck past me somehow.  Everything is set now, so I should be cool.

      Yes.

I have a machine with 24H2, and for the first time since December, I paused my updates a week ago.  However, I am … as I write this ….. considering resuming updates today because I read a link that @Joep517  (thanks, Joe) posted in another thread that outlined all the security vulnerabilities — some serious — that are fixed in the latest 24H2 update.  So I just might have to do my backups and update.   Security issues take precedence over minor bugs, real or perceived.
