• 2 repeating crashes

    I’ve search the web and tried a number of things but nothing has worked.

    The two error messages are “WHEA uncorrectable error” and “clock watchdog timeout”.

    What I’ve found seems to indicate that it can be a driver problem but I can’t find what which driver it might be. The drivers are those loaded by windows itself.

    Suggestions for either appreciated!

      “WHEA uncorrectable error” is hardware, usually the CPU, self-reporting an error.

      “clock watchdog timeout” Usual causes: Device driver, BIOS bug, hardware defect.

      If it’s driver-related, it might be that the system is simply too busy (CPU/memory/drive combination too slow for the current workload, esp. if the process calling/waiting is single-threaded?) and needs some work to fine tune.

      EDIT: with crashes such as these, some debugging and data collection is likely to be needed, possibly also a full memory dump, start here and attach the needed files in a reply, we’ll take a look and see what’s most likely to be going on.

      Thanks folks!

      Paul T – your link helped and it was the sys reporting a problem with the motherboard, i.e. not supported. This setup have been running for several years but I updated the bios (which might have been a problem) and cranked the overclock back some. So far good, I’ll slowly crank the overclock back up.

      Came across this link which toward the bottom recommends BlueScreenView. I found the app to provide useful info related to crashes.
