1st time in 3+ ys: Malwarebytes quarantined files – Lenovo PC running Wim23H2

After all the warnings on Windows updates, & because this is the first time Malwarebytes Pro (MWB for short) found anything on my 64 bit Lenovo running 23H2 in 2++ yrs, I’m a bit freaked. My other malware & browser guards found nothing. I did have a weird sudden shutdown late last night.. Had MWB lock ’em all up. MWB’s report original names on the warning were much shorter ‘Windows updates’ & ‘Neshta.Virus’ names. Is there anything else I should know or do? I’m an end-to-end Supply Chain designer, not a coder or HW/SW guru. Off to install the “W11_Stayon_23H2.reg” as per instructions found here! Thanks to all who can advise.

Hi Diane, it’s looking like a possible false positive, update MWB5 and the install the latest updates, scan the suspect files again.

I’ve had another check on the Malwarebytes support site this am and everything points to a bad update that was pushed out briefly. These things happen occasionally; following the above advice should get your PC back up to scratch but if you’re unsure of how to best to safely proceed, please sign up and ask for help from the team there – it’s much less risky than using a third party as a go-between
