    Whatta mess. If you can go through my new InfoWorld slide show, and leave Windows Automatic Update turned ON, you’re a much more trusting soul than I.

      Personally on this machine while I do typically wait to install patches I do not pay much attention to MS-DEFCON.

      Been away for a while. Always update laptop before doing desktop. Am on vista business

      did updates and when i tried to get into my account gt error message windows could not connect to system event notificatin services

      hard crashed machine did safe mode boot and used restore point and got back to useable machine prior to the updates.

      Advice appreciated. Did not kb2859537 was still checked. unchecked it but am not going to take next step until get some advice.

      Whatta mess indeed! I now have 25 Win 7 updates in limbo and I’m waiting. Somebody needs to tell Microsoft that summer vacation is over!

      Being 20 something in the 70's was far more fun than being 70 something in the insane 20's
