    1038: Socket operation on non-socket

Does anyone know what this means? My wireless connection has worked perfectly until I received this error. I haven’t made any changes to my setup and now I can’t connect to my network or the internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. scratch

I’ve done a quick Google, and found a couple of similar questions — and no answers. Maybe it’s Microsoft’s way of saying you need to upgrade to Vista?!

      1038 or 10038?
(I think – according to this Microsoft page it should be 10038.)

Googling on “ 10038 Socket operation on non-socket ” brings up many hits, including this at Experts Exchange.

Being curious I wanted to see what the answer would be and…… the site you linked to (Expert Exchange) says I would have to subscribe to see! Expensive too! sigh

Being curious, did you scroll down to the bottom to see the answer?

whisper .. and see post 620,589 to find a way round it if you still can’t see it….

Yep! I did do the scroll (want to dance?) but apparently somewhere along the way I had pushed the “Big Button”! Clearing my cookies -hem, hem – has taken care of my curiosity! thankyou very much!
