    In Excel’s window to open a file, I created a favorite and added it to “My Places”. How does one remove the favorite?

      I assume this is in Excel 2003?

      Yes, It is Excel 2003.

      Sorry, I’m sitting at a 2007 machine currently- I’ll take a look when I’m at a 2003 machine.

      I am able to remove the Place by right clicking and choosing Remove.

      Added folders in “My Places” can be deleted from right click & then hit “Remove”.

      but in built items can not be removed.

      I have an interesting delimma; when I right click on it I receive the following error message.

      Is there a fix to the registery that can be made?

      One possible reason :

      Working in local area network (LAN) domain needs Power User OR Administrator rights to customize windows.

      If working in a Work-group, where domain is not configured in server, every user has the right to do such things.
