    Hi all,

A colleague of mine has a download problem which started when see received an internet id for the proxy. Her id does work properly on another pc.
Downloading RTF or PDF directly from the link(picture) on screen is not possible. A new blank window is opened.
When saving the link (right click, save target as) and then double clicking the downloaded html file results in the proper download.
The contents of the downloaded html file is as follows:

    Any suggestions are welcome.

Downloading a PDF or RTF file from another site is no problem.

    TIA
    Joop

I understand sites that require a password to get in, but I’m not sure I understand the internet ID and proxy situation.

May I assume that you changed the host name to http://www..….. (since otherwise, this is a completely invalid URL)?

One difference between a file on a web site and a file on your computer is its security zone. I don’t know if IE 6 allows you to disable META “refresh” tags on a zone-by-zone basis, but you could check and see if that is the problem. Or have your colleague add the host name to her Trusted Sites list and see if that helps.

Note that it appears to be a secure site as it is prefixed “https” – check the security settings at the end of the Tools > Internet Options > Advanced list.

        Thanks gents,

The security setting was the problem. Somehow it was changed to custom.
After changing the setting to Medium the download started.
