• Task with Shortcut (Outlook 2002/XP)

This has probably been asked before, but doing a quick search didn’t turn up anything so I will ask anyway.

In previous versions of Outlook I was able to right click and drag an email from the Inbox to the Tasks folder and then select the copy here as task with shortcut option from the resulting menu. In Outlook 2002 this option is still provided and the task is created. It even shows the appropriate icon for the shortcut to the email within the Notes area of the Task which you have created.

My problem is that the shortcut does not do anything. Double clicking on it does not open the email. Right clicking on the shortcut icon gives you the option to open message object, but this is greyed out and not available.

Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

        Thanks Mary J,

I was afraid that this was the case since I hadn’t been able to find a solution anywhere as yet.

I guess I will just have to sit and wait to see if Microsoft give us a fix for this one. beep

        Cheers
