I am wondering if anyone has ever seen a problem with Word margins like I have been experiencing. For some reason when a new word document is created I am getting a 2+ inch bottom margin. When I try to go in and change it to something else it acts like it accepts the change, but it does not change it. I am not sure what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

    Ron.

What’s the position of the footer? Could be the footer position is greater than the margin you have set.

The documents where I have seen this problem do not have a footer set up, but I will take a closer look at this.

        Thanks for the suggestion.

Check to see that the Vertical Alignment under Page Setup > Layout is set for Top.

When you make the changes suggested in the other posts, 2 more things:
      1. Check to make sure that you don’t have a text box or frame (with a white border or with no border).

Whatever the cause, when you correct it, make sure you open normal.dot & make the change. If it’s part of the page setup, you can correct it & then click the default button. If there’s actually a text box there, you will need to open normal.dot (don’t just find it in Windows Explorer & double click it).
