Hi. I have been a spastic lurker but intend to become a regular participant.
This week I setup two peer networks to share DSL using Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL routers. The setup was almost too easy bingo. On our home system the new setup replaced ICS that came with Win98SE, which required a second NIC in the PC with the DSL connection. Now the router controls the Internet connection, sharing, and provides the firewall.

We have been on Pac Bell DSL since they opened the service here about two years ago. The details are not clear to me as a mere customer, but a current transition will convert this service to SBC Global, and with the Prodigy-SBC merger it will be Prodigy-ized, probably by the end of this year. We are in Sausalito, CA.

      what is the price range?

Does it come with a feature for MAC spoofing? I’m trying to picture a menu here. What I know about routers can be engraved on the very small pinhead of the MS networking exam.

      Cheers

I use the Linksys router and agree it is fantastic, BUT, I recently put up a linux web server with virtual hosting (more then 1 domain on an IP addy) and the router won’t pass the name to the server, therefore, whatever domain you hit, sends you to the same directory.
