I have set up an import specification in a scratch database to try things out. I saved it, too, but i assume it is stuffed into one of the system tables, since I cant see it anywhere.

How do I access this IS for use in another database?

You’ll have to import the spec into the other database. Just bring up the import dialog and click the advanced button. One of the selections is for the import/export specs. However, you can’t pick and choose, you have to import all of them.

        Thanks Charlotte!

Rather than importing ‘all of them’, it is possible to delete import specs, so if I follow the practice of experimenting with a throw-away database, i can tune the specs, jetison the losers, and import the one desired.

Sure. Just start the import wizard in the database where you created the specs and click on the Advanced buttton. When that page comes up, click the Specs button to see a list of specs. You can highlight any of these and then click the Delete button to remove it from the database.
