I have percentage data labels in a chart, but I don’t want the data labels to be automatically rounded up. Is there a way to control this rounding?

    Thanks.

When you have your chart in place, right click on the data labels and then select Format Data Labels, and use the number tab to set your preferences.

I did not notice an option to “not round up” in that area. I know you can set the decimal places, but can you specify that the numbers not be rounded up?

The label is going to have to round at some point, but you have control as to the number of places to the right of the decimal that you’d like it to perform that at. So, if you want to see 3 significant places to the right of the decimal, perhaps you want to specify 4 in the formatting so you get 3 unrounded places. Seems a bit kludgy now that I’ve put it on paper, but it’s all I have! shrug Best of luck!

I am not sure what you mean by rounding up – presumably yo mean rounding from something like 74.75% to 75%, if that is so then such rounding is due to formatting. You can link the format to match the formatting you use in the data table by selecting the link to source switch. Excel defaults to zero decimal palces for percentage values, but you can modify the % style by using Format|Styles.

          Hope that helps
