    After struggling to use Flash Player since 2020 when Adobe stop supporting it. I was using the time and date change to work on my old Firefox 68. But now I found the easiest solution and hoping to share with others that might need it. No more need to adjust date.

    1. Download Portable app of FireFox ( Only old version 78 or older.
    2. Download Notepad++ and get hex editor for it
    3. Hopefully you have flash player installed or download it
    4. Install firefox portable and notepad++
    5. Create a backup copy of your flash player plugin before modifying the hex code that this sites mentions. (seem it is not loading-use google cache to show it)
    6. Open Notepad++ with the flash plugin and find and replace with hex editor from the website:
      • 00 00 40 46 3E 6F 77 42 with
      • 00 00 00 00 00 00 FF 7F
    7.  Save the file after edit.
    8. Copy and the file into windows folder if flash player is install.Otherwise copy to the data/plugin folder of flash player portable.
    9. Enjoy your websites that still use flash player.

    I have test this on Windows 7 (my backup os), 8.1 (main OS), and Windows 10 (Rarely use this OS since it is very bad). It works on them. This was create from info gather online and several other posts. I have not tried on Windows 11 (terrible OS) but I assume it will work as well.

    Hope it helps other flash players users that have been adjust date to before 2020 to get flash to work. If this should be in another forum, please move it.

      Your links 404 but I assume what the edit does is change the Flash Player to blacklist mode, as the primary method of blocking was originally just putting it in whitelist mode, which means all sites were blocked from running it without specifically whitelisting them.

      I still run flash just fine by editing that whitelist found in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg

      imo, this is a safer method than the one you seem to be showing as you make no mention of whitelisting, so I assume that means it’s just going to run on all sites again (though typically there’s still a prompt to run)
      Additionally, no hex editing is required.

      This of course still relies on you having Flash, which means avoiding the Windows and browser updates that remove it.

      Populate the list following this format:

      AutoUpdateDisable=1
      EOLUninstallDisable=1
      SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0
      EnableAllowList=1
      AllowListRootMovieOnly=1
      AllowListUrlPattern=https://url1
      AllowListUrlPattern=https://url2…etc.

      While Adobe pulled the link to download it from their site last year, the standalone version of Adobe Flash Player can still be downloaded from the WaybackMachine archives.

      https://web.archive.org/web/20220401020702/https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html

      Note: since it’s not “installed”, Window & browser updates won’t remove it (they won’t even see it’s on your PC.)

      Also, since it doesn’t include any “browser” plug-ins, to get it to work with your browser you need to assign it as a “helper app” that opens the .flv & .swf file types.

      I saw the link before the 404 but what it does is remove the time block that flash will not work after <span class=”ILfuVd” lang=”en”><span class=”hgKElc”><b>January 12, 2021</b></span></span>. You had to manually change the date on computer for it to load. Whitelisting does not work. You get this image unless you have on older version that did not have the time block.

      Standalone does not work for websites. This is why people have to find archive flash plugins and use portable apps to use flash. Block things that are need by people is not cool and software developers are clueless what people need.

        What *EXACTLY* are you needing an insecure, notoriously buggy piece of software that you cannot find replacements for?

      I found this website by accident recently and thought I’d let you know.

      Ruffle (Online Flash Player) (2024)
      https://ruffle.rs/

      You can download an executable to run swf files too.
