I had multiple “x.sbcglobal.net” email addresses that used to work fine with Outlook, then, they gradually stopped one-by-one several months ago. It would try to retrieve, then stop and give the “Task ‘xxx@sbcglobal.net – Receiving’ reported error (0x800CCC92) : ‘Your email server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password for this account in Account Settings. The server responded: -ERR [SYS/TEMP] Server error – Please try again later.’

I’ve looked up this error and tried the suggestions, but nothing works. I’ve defaulted to using the free online access (by ATT/Yahoo), but it doesn’t have all the functionality I like.

    Any suggestions?

Have you explored whether you need to set up an app password? I know we’ve had that a bunch lately with Bellsouth AT&T accounts

Thanks. Well, that actually worked, based on the link you sent. They had me do that (add the OAth) for my accounts quite a while ago, which I  did and everything worked for a long time. Then it stopped. So, Thank You!

I know there have been many complaints on the att message boards with people having to constantly reset their passwords since they switched over to currently.com. Had it happen to one of my clients twice.

I’ve been having a similar problem on one computer with swbell.net email and gmail in Outlook 365. It stopped working about 2 months ago with error myemail@swbell.net Receiving reported error (0x800CCC0F : The connection to the server was interrupted.
I have tried all the recommended fixes even to the point of creating a new Profile and nothing works. It’s as if something in my machine is blocking it. I’ve been using the AT&T Secure ID passwords for over a year. I have two desktops and a laptop running Office 365 and Outlook works fine on the laptop and the older desktop but not on my primary work machine. The settings for all three machines are identical as far as Servers and Authentication etc. All three are running Windows 10 version 22H2 (just updated).
