    I’ve been grousing about the audio bug all week, but Friday afternoon we got official confirmation: Audio in games is quiet or different than expected

      I wonder how the installer knows if you have a conflicting USB mic that hasn’t been plugged in…

      Doesn’t Microsoft *know all*?! (Hmmm … of course, if you haven’t turned off all *telemetry* that phones home–I’m guessing 😉 !)

        Yup…and Windows likes to have the same device plugged into the same USB port every time…if not, it can go “What? I don’t recognize this! I’ll install a new driver for it!”

        Aaargh.

      All mighty Microsoft chooses to switch off the audio driver, NO notification at all.
      When looking for an answer, there simply and only is the line that the driver is disabled because it causes instability to the Windows-OS-system.
      Cold Reboot the b****y thing and the driver is back.

      Ready for prime time? Well, if you don’t use client Hyper-V (severe memory leak in new graphics driver, erratic mouse behavior, freezing VMs), task manager (buffer overrun crashes), or any other of the new and buggy ‘features’, 1903 might be yours.
