That is a weird one. I stick with Windows 7 on most of my PC’s because ironically they are less buggy then Win 10. Not perfect mind you, just seem less buggy for now. I had one notebook had terrible wifi  issues, it has a Intel Pro wifi card you would think Win 10 could handle that. But nope, wifi signal weak drops all the time, reinstalled Win 7 works great gets max signal. Now tell me how do you go from max signal in a older Win 7 to dropping connection in Windows 10 1903? Yet nobody noticed this regression? Yep buggy Win 10 continues and 4 years of feature upgrades have created a buggy mess.

Wow that’s just more issues with Windows 10 and I’m on windows 7 but have just installed Firefox as IE11 does not play nice with any live streams/live streaming. But I wish there where regulations forcing the browser makers to not have any default search provider required as I’d like Firefox/Others to have no default search provider required at all. Currently with Firefox there is a requirement to have a default search provider so I use DuckDuckGo as the default search providor, even with  DuckDuckGo’s constant redirects to plug(Advertise) its Firefox Browser Privacy extensions and that’s becoming d***ed annoying!

I’ve already had to go into Firefox’s About:Config past that hilarious “Void Your Warranty” nonsense to fix some things with Popups, as if software has ever came with a warranty in the first place as software comes with only disclaimers and End User Agreements. I do wonder if the Mozilla folks even Know about the legality of those sorts of “Warranty Void” statements  that really do not hold water legally. But back to that required search provider issues in many browsers that needs to be amended with a no search provider at all  as a legal requirement by the FCC/FTC and Justice Department for internet browsers.

I’d like there to be a none of the search providers in existence option required for all internet browsers and there being a no default search provider at all browser option. That and for DuckDuckGo  to respect my privacy and stop aggressively pushing its Firefox browser  extensions/plugins/whatever in my face almost every time navigate to DuckDuckGo’s  search page, that’s past getting old and is really grating on my nerves .

I’ve also got no home page in Firefox or IE11 and that’s how I like it but I do wish to also have not default search provider as well because we all know what that’s about and it’s sure not about any privacy for sure. As far as I’m concerned its About:Blank for my home page and I’d like an About:No_Default_Search_Provider option as well.

P.S. AskWoody, Firefox’s(version 67) Undo sometimes does not work when cutting and pasting into your comment box and that’s happening in the Visual Mode so I’m unsure if that’s your CMS or if it’s Firefox related.

Actually a non issue.  Don’t install the optional updates is the rule.

The moderators repeatedly encourage people to use the Text Box for copy/paste… to avoid the need to edit for HTML after the post is submitted. I’m not sure that it would fix your issue, but would be worth a try.

Text it is then from now on I guess and I’m a security only updater for Windows 7 and IE 11. So cut and paste interoperability still is not full and complete with Firefox/Other Browsers and whatever software classes/methods(RichTextBox Class) gets called on down the software stack in Windows via any Third Party CMS packages.

I’m liking Firefox compared to IE11 for most things on the web but I really do not care for DuckDuckGo’s constant nagging about their DuckDuckGo brand Firefox security Plug-ins/Extensions every few times that I load/return to DuckDuckGo’s search page. That’s excessive nagging on DuckDuckGo’s part and maybe that will drive more business away if it keeps up the way its been going.

Firefox needs to just by default block all popups as standard practice with no exceptions as one of the web pages that I visit was setting of my security software’s klaxons at every visit until I went into Firefox’s About:Config and erased some strings related to permissible kinds of allowed by Firefox Popups(And No Popups are good popups). Popups and Even HTML5 players have been setting off my Security Software a whole lot lately.

Forcing a Default Search provider is maybe something that should not be allowed in any browser and I’d rather just have my Browser’s bookmark toolbar set up with a few search engines of my choosing and really I do not want my browser’s address bar blabbing any of my open local file(File Names/etc.) in the browser’s UI blabbed out to some default search provider that’s forced on me by a default search provider requirement in IE11/Firefox/Other Browsers. And even Though I have, in Firefox, chosen a separate search bar for searching instead of the using the address bar for searches, Firefox still want’s to port everything that I type into the address bar over to the default search provider! So why the need to even have offered a separate search bar for searching in Firefox if the address bar is still going have it’s contents sent to search provider as well. And any local file content opened via the browser has that file’s directory/file structure listed in the browser’s address bar as well, so that’s not very privacy oriented of most browser makers.

I think that it’s about time for the security software to start flagging any website if that website is allowing its ad partners to serve up virus/other security related download/redirect attempts whereas currently my antivirus/firewall software only flags the originating IP address that was blocked for whatever ad partner is pushing out the infected package. So that’s maybe not wise as any antivirus/firewall software should flag the web page’s IP address also and blocking access to that web page until the website’s owner/owners take notice and contacts their ad partners to fix the issue.

There are a few websites that I have been visiting that have had any Right Mouse click/open in a new Browser tab’s UI interaction taken over and pointing to some redirected IP address(Virus Download Attempts) for over a year now and because my antivirus/firewall software is only flagging the redirected IP address and not that webpage’s IP address also and maybe the website’s owner is not aware of the issue. Website owners tend to fix any security issues on their websites(Mostly Ad partner related) if their website starts getting blocked by the antivirus/firewall software to the point of that website’s loosing those all important page hit rates and adsense/whatever revenues.

Ah…so that is why even though I am on 1803, I don’t have the problem. I never install optional updates. I don’t use IE either, but I checked, and it is set by default (because I didn’t do it) for Bing as the search engine. I don’t search from Search anyhow on any browser and, on any browser I can, I remove Search. (I open a new tab and type “start.duckduckgo.com” to do a search on a clean page) or, more likely, I do a right click context search (choosing the appropriate engine) on a highlighted word/phrase.

Out of curiosity though, I did check further in IE to see what other search engines Microsoft offers as choices for the default search engine. Pathetic short list that doesn’t even include DDG!

Base on darknet, this flaw has been used to remote take over IE in Windows 10 and has been around for years. This was the reason no one report it. But now that is mentioned, this might be fix now.
