• If you’re getting Win10 beta builds, and want to get off the beta bandwagon, here’s how to Stop the Madness

    So you have a machine that’s been on the Windows Insider Fast or Slow rings, and now it’s time to just stick to version 1809. If you do it right now, the going’s easy.

    Paul Thurrott has a detailed step-by-step procedure. Just click Start > Settings > Update & Security. On the left, click Windows Insider Program. On the right, click Stop Insider Preview builds. Answer a few questions and you’re ready for the first Win10 version 1809 cumulative update — which I expect to see on Tuesday.

    UPDATE: Surprise! If you’re still on the Insider Fast Ring, you’re about to get updated to build 18252 of the next-next version of Windows, 19H1. If you want to stick with 1809, you need to act quickly — and if you get stuck on 18252, roll it back before you use Thurrott’s steps to get unhooked.
