• Simplified servicing for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1: the latest improvements

    Nathan Mercer is back with a modification to the modified patchocalypse method for updating Win7 and 8.1.

    The bottom line:

    Starting with February 2017, the Security Only update will not include updates for Internet Explorer, but the Monthly Rollup will continue to include updates for Internet Explorer.

    In other words, if you’re in Group B, you’ll need to install the Internet Explorer update separately, starting next month. No change for those in Group A.

    Of course, I’ll provide full details as each month’s patches reach their fullness.
