• September Win 8.1 Monthly Rollup KB 4038792 blamed for Internet Explorer mis-fire

    Just got this message from AC:

    Just a note to let you know that after installing KB 4038792 September rollup for 8.1, my system would not launch internet explorer 11.  Click on the ‘e’ in the taskbar and nothing happens.

    After uninstalling this update ie11 works just fine

    Don’t know if this will be fixed in the next update, but for now will have to pass on whatever security fixes were in 4038792.  Sure wish they would go back to individual files rather than a rollup.

    I wonder if there’s a similar problem with the September IE security-only patch, KB 4036586.
