• Bots are creeping into the Microsoft Answers forum – “directly.com”

A real eye-opener from langware on the Microsoft Answers forum:

I have read replies here in CPC (the Community Participation Center) about “directly.com”. I searched on the company and found this on their site:

    How it works

Your best community members earn rewards for creating and optimizing automatic responses, personally answering customer questions, and handing off to agents when needed.

That may help explain why so many bad Microsoft bugs are dismissed with official comments about the “small number of users” and/or “we are aware of the situation and will respond when there’s a solution” responses.

Are the bots not particularly capable – or just entirely clueless?

Thx to DP, who brought this thread to my attention. DP adds:

Does not seem to bode well for the MS Community as a whole. One volunteer who has expressed her thoughts in this thread has had several of her posts deleted, she always speaks her mind. Seems MS doesn’t like hearing the truth.
