Emergency Flash Player update
In the “beating a dead horse” department, ER writes with this note:
Adobe has once again released a new set of Flash Player security updates, this time on Wed. October 26, 2016 in security bulletin APSB16-36:
https://helpx.adobe.com/
security/products/flash- player/apsb16-36.html Adobe security bulletin APSB16-36 also links to a future MS security bulletin that doesn’t exist yet for those using Windows 8.1 & Windows 10, maybe Thursday 10/27/2016 Microsoft may post it up, but so far the Adobe Flash Player v23.0.0.205 ActiveX security updates are not yet available for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 (all editions).
And I also found out that the Win10 Flash Player security updates [like KB3194343] only apply to specific builds of Win10. So I had to download several different versions – one will specifically work for the “1607” version, the other for “1511” and another for the RTM “1507” version; one Flash Player patch for Win10 will NOT work for multiple builds of Win10, meaning a Win10 v1607 flash player patch will only work on the v1607 release and not the v1511 & v1507 releases.
Check out this MS Update Catalog search for KB3194343:

microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q= 3194343%20for%2010 That’s one of the main pains with using the Update Catalog – Windows Update handles all the version searching for you.
