Will Windows 8 run x86 apps on ARM tablets — or not?

There’s still a lot of confusion, but I don’t think there’s any doubt that “legacy” Windows 7 apps won’t, in general, run on the Desktop interface, for Windows 8 ARM (think “tablet”) machines.
