• Will your Windows 10 Insider beta build expire soon?

    Brad Sams, over on Thurrott.com, has a warning that some Win10 Insider builds — beta versions of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, due August 2 — are starting to display a warning message that “This build of Windows will expire soon.”

    Several of you have asked how you can tell if your version will expire soon. Ends up, it’s easy.

    Down in the Cortana search box, to the right of the Start icon, type

    winver

    and press Enter. The expiration data for your version of the beta appears on the notification, along with your current build number. Those of you with the latest build will probably see a notification like this one:
