• No, don’t install the new Office patches

    Good question from L:

    In your MSDEFCON-3 announcement of May 30th, for Windows 7 you say “UNCHECK the boxes next to any items that aren’t specifically marked as “Security Update.” All of them.” Does that include the non-security Office Updates also? The reason I ask is that you just recently (today) posted a listing of non-security Office updates, but in that posting you don’t say in that posting that we shouldn’t install them (except that you kind of implied it in response to one commenter).

    I should’ve been much more clear. Sorry. All of the Office updates coming out today (and every first Monday, we’re told) are non-security updates. Thus, you should NOT install them.

    I believe they will all arrive on your computer unchecked. If that’s the case, leave them unchecked. If one of them happens to get checked, uncheck it.
