• Missing password for forced Win10 upgrade

    This in from reader JC:

    I have been reading your articles concerning the forced Windows 10 update.
    This happened to me over the weekend.  My problem is I purchased a computer on ebay in 2014 for a quickbooks point of sale program.  I never needed a password to log in..  Just installed and started using QB POS.  Now that the windows 10 has downloaded to this computer it is asking me for a password???  I cannot open my computer at all?  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

    Short of cracking the password using Linux – or using Dennis Faas’s trick on InfoPackets –  does anybody have a method that’ll work?
