    Now here’s a patch we can all sink our teeth into.

    Just got this note from CS:

    Hi Woody,

    Running W7 Home Premium SP1

    Just received an optional update for:

    KB3162593  Silverlight DateTime parsing for Norway and Serbia

    I uninstalled Silverlight a long time ago so no idea why I’m being offered the update. Unless it’s because there is a banner ad at the top of the page https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3162593 “Don’t miss out! The free upgrade offer to Windows 10 will end on July 29th, 2016”

    Is MS now offering optional updates for software you don’t have as an excuse to nag you to upgrade to Windows 10?

    I just checked and the banner ad doesn’t appear on my machine when using Chrome … but your results may vary.

    Oddly, this patch doesn’t appear on the official Windows Update list, but the KB is clearly marked as being from June 21.
