• How to run the “Windows 10 compatibility checker” without GWX?

Interesting question from SC – and I haven’t found an answer:

Is there any way of running the Win10 Compatibility Checker without turning on the Get Windows 10 nag stuff?

As many of you know, the “Get Windows 10” subsystem includes a program that checks the current PC to see if there are any compatibility problems with upgrading to Windows 10. The so-called Windows 10 Compatibility Checker can be run manually, without installing GWX/KB 3035583, by starting an elevated command prompt, then running this command:

    schtasks.exe /Run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser"

SC was able to run the command successfully – but now that he’s run it, is there any way to interpret the results without installing GWX?

At this point, the best advice I have is to install KB 3035583, hold your nose, run the schtasks.exe command, use GWX to look at the results, then run GWX Control Panel real quick.

Which is a first-class kludge. Is there a better way?
