• Windows Live OneCare faltering

Virus Bulletin just released the latest test results from AV-Test.org.

Full disclosure time: Those of you who have read my books know that I don’t like Microsoft’s Windows Live OneCare – it reeks of payola, where Microsoft is making people pay for a service (Microsoft protecting Microsoft products) that, in my opinion, should be provided for free.

Ends up that OneCare came up in 16th place among the on-demand antivirus scanners tested.

On the bright side, that means Microsoft isn’t keeping AV information to itself.

On the, uh, dark side, it means that a whole lotta people are paying for an inferior product.
